Volunteer of the Month (May)

Volunteer of the Month (May)
May 30, 2021 STERAbuja

“Volunteerism is the voice of the people put into action.  These actions shape and mould the present into a future of which we can all be proud.” – Helen Dyer.

At Stand To End Rape, we understand that giving back is at the core of humanity. We love to recognize our volunteers, who go above and beyond in fighting against sexual violence and actively contributing to our initiative’s day-to-day running.

This month, we would like to recognize Feyisola, who is an attentive and devoted volunteer. She is a member of the programs department at STER. In getting to know more about Feyisola, we asked her a few questions.

WHAT/ WHO INSPIRES  YOU?

My family inspires me massively. They are all incredible in their own way. I’m also inspired by everyone creating the life they wish to live. Working with what they have right now and not waiting for things to be perfect.

WHAT IS YOUR MANTRA?

God has given you everything you need for right now. Create the life you want to live.

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN?

Travel. Watch Ratchet TV. Spend time with my family and friends. Dance naked. Ruffle my lover’s feathers.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR I5-YEAR OLD SELF?

Enjoy your childhood. Be present. Follow your curiosity and try new things- they make for a good story. Have fun, be silly.

WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF A SAFE NIGERIA?

A safe Nigeria is a Nigeria where you are protected and valued regardless of your gender, tribe, location, social and financial status. A safe Nigeria is a Nigeria that benefits everyone and not a select few.  A Nigeria where there is enough of everything for everyone.

Thank you for all the time and effort you put into STER and making the world a better place; we are proud of you!
