We joined the Women of Rubies team in the annual Walk against Rape event. The walk kickstarted at Ikeja Under Bridge to the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs, where STER Initiative and other stakeholders engaged the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Lola Akande. In our request, we stated the need for more enlightenment for behavioural change, shelters, prompt legal trials for rape, a sexual violence report desk in every Local Government in Lagos State and a Rape Offenders Register.
