“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.” – Elizabeth Andrew
At Stand To End Rape, we love to recognize our volunteers, who go above and beyond in fighting against sexual violence and actively contributing to the day to day running of our initiative.
This month, we would like to recognize Oluwatosin Oloyede for the amazing coordination she brings to STER. She is the Head of Human Resources at STER. In getting to know more about Tosin, we asked her a few questions:
What or who inspires you?
Tosin says she is inspired by Bayo Adedeji – Wakanow CEO. He is a serial entrepreneur and he can sell anything. She wants to have the boldness and confidence he has to be able to sell herself and her product.
What is your Mantra?
One mantra Tosin lives by is – Be kind to everyone and yourself.
What do you do in your quiet time?
Tosin’s hobbies include watching movies and doing a lot of research about random things.
How can we address the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) problem in our society?
On how to curb GBV, Tosin believes continuous education, women empowerment and more prosecution of perpetrators would surely aid the fight against Gender-Based Violence
What advice would you give your 15-year-old self?
Her advice to her younger self is “Be self-confident and self-aware. Eat, pray, love, and make money”.
What is your definition of a ‘Safe Nigeria’?
A safe Nigeria in Tosin words is one where GBV is reduced, one where there are no child marriages. And girls can walk at any time of the day without fear of assault.
We appreciate all your hard work Oluwatosin. Keep it up.
