Stand To End Rape Initiative (STER) is a youth-led social enterprise advocating against sexual and
gender-based violence (SGBV), providing prevention mechanisms and supporting survivors with
psychosocial services. STER adopts a comprehensive approach to advocating for gender equality
and eliminating gender-based violence in Nigeria.
LOCATION: Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Department Summary
The Programs Unit engages in policy advocacy and community-driven initiatives on Sexual and
Gender-based Violence and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights issues. The Unit oversees
fundraising strategies and programs that contribute to the organisation’s overall strategy.
Job Description
❖ Oversee program development, planning, implementation, management and coordination.
❖ Participate in project monitoring and supportive supervision of partners, project sites
and communities.
❖ Oversee the implementation of all advocacy-related programs of STER.
❖ Develop and implement annual project strategy, including work plans, budgets, and team
projects schedule.
❖ Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures for all program activities are in place and
adhered to.
❖ Initiate new or emerging program ideas, and develop concept notes and grant applications for
funding towards achieving STER’s strategy.
❖ Conduct program reviews and prepare reports for donors and management.
❖ Plan and execute program activities in a timely and accurate manner.
❖ Identify and contact program partners to boost the expansion of STER.
Requirements, Knowledge and Expertise
❖ Minimum of a Degree in Economics, Management, International Development, Social
Sciences, or a related field.
❖ A critical understanding and deep commitment to social justice and human rights.
❖ Demonstrated ability to take the initiative, prioritise, work within a team and in a fast-paced
environment.
❖ Excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills.
❖ Quality report writing and project analysis skills.
❖ Microsoft Office and Google packages (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Docs, Drive).
❖ Solid experience in project management, grant writing, fund management, and
budgeting with an NGO or INGO.
❖ Fluency in English is required, and local languages are highly recommended.
❖ Willingness to travel to all project locations.
