Key Responsibilities:
As a Programs Officer at STER, you will play a crucial role in our mission to combat sexual violence and promote consent education. Your responsibilities will include:
Program Coordination: Overseeing the development, planning, implementation, and management of our programs.
Project Monitoring: Participating in project monitoring and supportive supervision of partners, project sites, and communities, ensuring the effective execution of our initiatives.
Advocacy: Managing and overseeing the implementation of all advocacy-related programs at STER, advocating for change and social reform.
Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing annual project strategies, work plans, budgets, and team project schedules to drive our mission forward.
Compliance: Ensuring the establishment and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures for all program activities, ensuring the highest standards of quality.
Innovation: Initiating new program ideas, developing concept notes, and crafting grant applications for funding opportunities that align with STER’s strategy.
Reporting: Conducting program reviews and preparing comprehensive reports for donors and management to showcase the impact of our work.
Execution: Planning and executing program activities with precision and timeliness to achieve our goals.
Partnerships: Identifying and reaching out to potential program partners to expand STER’s reach and impact.
Requirements, Knowledge and Expertise:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
Educational Background: Minimum of a Degree in Economics, Management, International Development, Social Sciences or a related field.
Passion for Justice: A deep commitment to social justice and human rights, underlining your motivation to make a difference.
Initiative: Demonstrated ability to take the initiative, prioritize tasks, work collaboratively in a team, and excel in a fast-paced environment.
Organisational Skills: Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills to keep projects on track.
Communication Skills: Proficiency in quality report writing and project analysis.
Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google packages (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Docs, Drive).
Experience: Solid experience in project management, grant writing, fund management, and budgeting, preferably within an NGO or INGO context.
Language Skills: Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of local languages is highly recommended.
Willingness to Travel: A willingness to travel to all project locations as required by the role.
