“Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” – Steve Jobs
At Stand To End Rape, we understand that giving back is at the core of humanity. We love to recognize our volunteers, who go above and beyond in the fight against sexual violence and actively contribute to our initiative’s day-to-day running.
This month, we would like to recognize Elizabeth, an attentive and devoted volunteer. She is a member of the Litigation department at STER. In getting to know more about Elizabeth, we asked her a few questions:
What or who inspires you?
Humanity. It breaks my heart to see so many people suffering in a world with so many resources. Thinking of all the endless possibilities makes me eager to wake up each day to play my part.
What is your Mantra?
“There are no limits.”
What do you do for fun?
I really love to travel and explore new places. Reading books (especially Christian fiction) is a close second.
What advice would you give your 15-year-old self?
Do not be too eager to grow up, Elizabeth. Enjoy your youth a little more. You will grow up eventually.
What is your definition of a ‘Safe Nigeria’?
A safe Nigeria is a Nigeria where everybody is guaranteed safety and protection regardless of their gender, tribe, religion, location, social or financial status. A safe Nigeria ensures that you are safe for no other reason but for being Nigerian.
STER thanks you for all your hard work; we are proud of you; we hope that you continue to help humanity in your daily activities!
