Translation of IEC Material into Nigerian Local Language ( Pidgin – English) for the KASA Project
(a) Objectives: To correctly translate, edit and proofread materials that addresses sensitisation activities on strengthening the advocacy for enhancing gender equality and promoting women and girls’ rights in the state
(b) Background: Stand To End Rape Initiative (STER) is a youth-led social enterprise advocating against sexual and gender-based violence, providing prevention mechanisms and supporting survivors with psychosocial services. STER adopts a comprehensive approach to advocating for gender equality and eliminating gender-based violence in Nigeria. As part of our strategic advocacy efforts for the passage and implementation of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act in all states in Nigeria, STER seeks to support the implementation of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act in Cross River state, and scale-up existing activities to strengthen the advocacy for enhancing gender equality and promoting women and girls’ rights in the state. STER also seeks to create content that would be understood by the audience. To this end, STER seeks to engage a translator for the identified language to undertake the translation of IEC materials.
(c) Scope of work and expected outputs/deliverables:
Category 1: Translation
- Translate, edit and proofread materials to accurately reflect the local Nigerian language (Pidgin-English) for easy comprehension by the audience.
(d) Final Deliverables:
- Submission of translated materials.
(e) Timeframe and deadlines:
This assignment is for Consultants based in Nigeria and is for a period of 2 weeks.
- REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and proof of previous work done.
Experience:
- Familiarity with gender equality, and sexual and gender based violence.
- Expertise in Pidgin English language.
- Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills.
The project seeks to identify experts that fulfill the above criteria.
- DOCUMENTS TO BE INCLUDED WHEN SUBMITTING THE PROPOSALS
While submitting the Technical Proposal, the Applicant shall, in particular, ensure to attach the following:
- Profile of the consultant detailing their suitability for the work and relevant experience (max 2 pages).
- A detailed curriculum vitae (CV).
- Conceptual framework with expected deliverables and timelines of the number of days required (max 5 pages).
- FINANCIAL PROPOSAL
Lump sum contracts: The financial proposal shall specify a total lump sum amount (including a breakdown of costs for fee and number of working days). Payments will be made in installments based upon key outputs, i.e. upon delivery of the services specified in the TOR.
- 20% on signing the contract and submission of a blueprint including work-plan and methodology for the assignment (in English).
- 40% on submission of the first draft of the script (in Pidgin-English).
- 40% on the final submission of the script.
- EVALUATION
Cumulative analysis
The weighted average basis will be applied to evaluate the applicant, the award of the contract will be made to the Institution/individual whose offer has been evaluated and determined as:
- Responsive/compliant/acceptable, and;
- Having received the highest score out of a predetermined set of weighted technical and financial criteria specific to the solicitation.
